Reporting to Manager Quality Assurance, the primary objective of this position is to provide software quality assurance support for all of the company's products. This position requires a talented Software Engineer who has technical abilities demonstrating a breadth and depth of technical knowledge, ability to break things down, understand why, jump right in and own the solution. In addition to manual testing this position requires knowledge in HP's Quick Test Professional (QTP) to design and code complex scripts for use in automated testing. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to create supporting documentation, including test plans, use cases, bug and status reports as well as interface with customers on major projects. This position requires having a proven track record of delivering quality projects within very tight deadlines.
- Plan, design, develop and execute Test Plans, Manual and Automation test cases on Web applications
- Create detailed written technical documentation based on functional requirements and as part of the SDLC
- Provide feedback on functional and technical designs and specifications
- Create automated test scripts using QTP
- Develop, maintain and enhance test automation frameworks
- Identify and analyze software quality risks
- Work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision
- Manage projects within scope of responsibility
- Follow mandatory best practices as part of the SDLC
- Maintain currency in the latest web-based technologies
- Assist in the growth of the QA department including Quality Policies, Procedures and Test Plans for Software Engineering.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to those identified within the Standards of Business Conduct and the Employee Handbook, as may be amended from time to time. Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations and the company's governance/compliance program.
- Responsible for reporting violations of the company's policies and procedures, Standards of Business Conduct, governance program, laws and regulations through the company's Help Line or other mechanism that may be available at the time of the violation. Assists with internal control failure remediation efforts.
- Becomes knowledgeable of internal control responsibilities through training and instruction. Responsible and accountable for internal control performance within their area of responsibility. Participates in the internal controls self-assessment process.
- Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management.
Prior practical experience in the following areas is considered relevant to the position as indicated: (Mandatory, Desirable, Useful)
- 3 - 5 years of programming experience with at least three years of web application development – Mandatory
- Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures in professional software development including the SDLC – Mandatory
- Experience with web and database technologies: ASP.Net, C#.Net and PL/SQL. – Mandatory
- Experience with XML/XSL, DTD, XML Schemas, Web Services, SOAP, HTML, DHTML, AJAX, and IIS – Mandatory
- Experience with at least one RDBMS, preferably Oracle – Mandatory
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to handle multiple concurrent projects with limited oversight – Mandatory
- B.S. degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering - Mandatory
- Establish good rapport and work closely with development teams to coordinate testing activity, provide accurate/detailed defect reports and prioritize issues - Mandatory
- Experience using Version control systems such as CVS, Subversion, etc - Desirable
- Experience using Bug tracking systems like Jira, BugZilla, etc – Desirable
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years experience in testing medium to large size projects, working on two or more projects from requirements inception to product release - Useful
